2019 Future Doctor's Reception

Each spring the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science celebrates the achievements of its future doctors, dentists, pharmacists, veterinarians, and physician assistants with the annual Future Doctor's Reception.ÌýCongratulations to the future doctors who began their journey here at ¹ú²ú×ÔÅÄ! Over 100 students, family, administrators, faculty, and staff were in attendance to help commemorate these young students' achievements on May 8, 2019.

Thanks to the College of Science Pre-Health Professions Office, who interviewed and assisted with over 100 applicants.ÌýFifty-six of those students will go on to attend medical schools across the nation, including Florida State University College of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and Florida Atlantic University, where four of our students were accepted into the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.Ìý Ìýto see photos from the event.

Special thanks also goes to the Pre-Health Professionals team, all of our Science Advising team, and staff who worked closely with the students and planned another memorable Future Doctor's Reception for this new class of students. Gina Johnson, Associate Director of Academic Programs, led the effort along with the Pre-Health team, which includes Latarsha Morgan,ÌýCarla Liranzo, Ana Botero, and Thabita Joseph.

Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Evonne Rezler, remarks, “We are all thrilled to celebrate the success of our students at the Future Doctors Reception. What an amazing reception this year to recognize these students. The Science Advising and Pre-Health teams are delighted to see this class of future doctors we worked with advance to medical schools across the country - we couldn't be more proud."Ìý

Special thank you to the keynote speaker, Dr. Samarth L. Reddy, Board Certified in Hematology, Oncology and Internal Medicine, who shared guidance, words of inspiration and motivation to the many students pursuing careers in the medical field.
