We are thrilled to welcome new and returning Owls this week as Florida Atlantic prepares for the Fall 2023 semester with several University traditions. On the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses, first-year students are moving into their residence halls now through Aug. 17, and transfer and returning students will join them from Aug. 17 to 19.

On Friday, Aug. 19, I look forward to officially greeting our first-year students during Florida Atlantic’s annual Freshman Convocation. This important rite of passage marks the onset of a student’s college career and their entrance into the Owl community. With about 4,300 students comprising the incoming class, I am pleased to share that this cohort is among the largest in �������� history.

Another special tradition on the Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward campuses is ��������’s Red and Blue Weeks, a series of engaging welcome events taking place from Aug. 17 to Sept. 2. A few notable activities include a movie night on the Housing Lawn, First Saturday at �������� Stadium and meet-and-greets with various student organizations. I encourage all students to participate in these memorable events.

As a reminder, if any students need assistance navigating campus in the coming weeks, �������� employees wearing red “Need Help? Just Ask” lanyards will be happy to show you the way.
