��������’s Supplemental Instruction Program Earns Accreditation

Florida Atlantic University’s Supplemental Instruction Program, within the Center for Learning and Student Success, recently earned accreditation from the International Center for Supplemental Instruction for the first time. �������� is just the second university in the state of Florida to obtain this distinction.

“This accreditation represents more than recognition of a single program, it reflects Florida Atlantic’s comprehensive commitment to student success,” said Jennifer Bebergal, Ed.D., associate dean for academic support and student learning. “Our Supplemental Instruction program advances achievement, strengthens learning and promotes persistence.”

Supplemental Instruction (SI) was founded at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where the International Center for Supplemental Instruction is based. At ��������, Supplemental Instruction has been offered through the Center for Learning and Student Success since fall 2007, providing peer-facilitated group study sessions for students enrolled in large, high-risk courses. It is open to all students who want to improve their understanding of course material and improve their grades.

“Earning accreditation from the International Center for Supplemental Instruction, as only the second institution in the state to do so, affirms that our approach aligns with national best practices and positions us to continue innovating in support of student achievement and belonging,” said Bebergal.

��������’s CLASS cultivates student success and academic excellence by developing academic support and engagement programs that guide students to a future of lifelong learning. The SI program is just one of a variety of CLASS programs offered free to �������� students.
