The collection offers a broad range of snappy definitions/histories designed to orient students (and the general public!) to the complicated terrain of energy transition, renewability, and such thorny concepts as “degrowth.”��

Prof. Balkan's essay on cycling continues her work on cycle justice and attends to the competing cultural valences attended to this oft-maligned mode of conveyance—a mode that, following Ivan Illich, Balkan centers in her new monograph project as an instantiation of a radical cadence that may finally liberate us from our sedimented petrohabits.
