Noel Gonzalez

Born in Camaguey, Cuba, Captain Noel J. Gonzalez is a top-ranked retired U.S. Navy nuclear submarine commander, technology entrepreneur, and executive who has founded three companies, raised over $20 million in capital, and built a proven record delivering sophisticated software systems, AI/ML integrations, medical device certifications, and international product lines.

A graduate of Florida Atlantic University (B.S. Mechanical Engineering, with honors) and the University of Maryland (M.S. Computer Science), with executive education from Harvard Business School and Stanford GSB, Captain Gonzalez commanded two nuclear-powered submarines, USS Cheyenne (SSN 773) and USS Mississippi, earning multiple Battle "E" awards for combat readiness. He also served at U.S. Special Operations Command, where he shaped the resourcing of SEAL mobility capabilities, and as Executive Officer of USS Georgia during its historic conversion from SSBN to SSGN.

As TEAMSUB Cybersecurity Director, he personally conducted more than sixty assessments of the U.S. Undersea Enterprise following a major data breach, and his findings became the foundation for current NAVSEA and Department of Defense cybersecurity regulations. Hand-picked by Naval Reactors, he subsequently served as Director of the Integrated Propulsion System for the COLUMBIA-Class Submarine Compatibility Test Facility, overseeing a half-billion-dollar program critical to America's nuclear deterrent. A 2015 Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow at SRI International, he is one of a select cadre of senior officers who bridge the military and private sectors.

Today, Captain Gonzalez is the founder and CEO of SkillMil Inc., an AI/ML SaaS company connecting veterans and their spouses to civilian career opportunities, and leads several other ventures, including Targeted Biosciences, SOTA Manufacturing, and ARGUS Enterprises. He is married to Liza Bartis, and they have four children.
